A whimsical bungalow with all the dreamy interior features you could want

This small custom house in Point Roberts, Washington was built by Shawn and Jamie Dehner of The Small House Catalog. They named it The Beekeeper's Bungalow and went to work building it entirely on their own. The couple only hired outside help to shingle the roof, pour the foundation, and check the electrical work.
The house is 765 square feet and full of dreamy details like chunky trim work, big windows, lots of custom storage, and a vegetable garden right off of the kitchen. Check out all the Dehners' hard work below with a full tour of the house.

The interior features lots of windows to let in natural light and enjoy the gorgeous views of the surrounding nature. A propane stove with a custom-built mantle adds coziness to the space.
Every square inch of space is used efficiently in the home. For example, the stairway features a built-in computer nook and a closet for storage.
More beautiful views can be seen from the dining area. The bright white walls throughout the home add a feeling of spaciousness.
The kitchen reflects the couple's passion for cooking homemade meals. A vegetable garden is easily accessible right off the entrance.
There's plenty of storage for cooking supplies, cook books, and dishes. The open shelving allows beautiful ingredients to be on full display.
Upstairs a large bedroom features sloped ceilings and a big window to welcome in morning light. The feeling of the space is airy yet cozy.
