Welcome to Lemon Cove Village

California is notorious for having high housing prices because of the close proximity to luscious beaches, high-profile cities and stunning nature. Luckily tiny homes have entered the scene to allow more people to enjoy the wonders of the state while not investing all of their savings moving out west.
Opened in January of 2015, Lemon Cove Village makes simple living next to gorgeous scenery is incredibly easy. The village is currently made up of 55 tiny houses located in a serene community in between Los Angeles and San Francisco. It is also 20 minutes away from the state’s Sequoia National Park.

The cost of renting out one of the tiny homes in the village is only $550 per month. The electricity bill is separate, though Lemon Cove has houses with optional electricity, water, and sewage. Everything most renters would need is close by, the houses all located within steps of a community pool, dog park, community kitchen, high-speed internet, communal showers and more. There’s also no need to drive out for groceries, as a new convenience store was opened in early July, eliminating the need for cars. This makes green living much easier to do and may make car payments obsolete for tiny home owners.

Lemon Cove isn’t the only place in California that’s tiny-friendly. Earlier this year, Fresno, California (just north of Lemon Cove) was the first city in the nation to acknowledge tiny homes in development codes and authorization. They’re small steps, but communities like Lemon Cove are essential for encouraging tiny-friendly living spaces and regulations throughout California and a catalyst for tiny homeowners in the nation.
