Tour this rustic tiny home in the woods with a bright interior

A yearning for freedom and adventure led three friends to create their own tiny house construction company, which they named Modern Tiny Living. Founders Trent, Daniel and Robbie have since expanded their team to include a tiny home expert, an architect and a tiny home designer. The Ohio-based company also works with local artisans to construct houses that are both durable and beautiful.
According to their website, the team hopes "to build beautiful homes, homes that would rival or eclipse the quality and craftsmanship of your 3000 square feet home." True to their word, the company's Mohican model is no exception. The 20-foot trailer packs a lot of punch in such a tiny space. All the essentials in a regular house also can be found in this home decorated predominantly in white.

One quick look at the Mohican shows it's made of top of the line materials. The sidings are pine, the trim is cedar and the interior walls are poplar. Andersen double-pane windows allow plenty of light while remaining energy efficient. The metal roof carries a warranty of up to 40 years. Three-inch closed-cell sprayed foam insulation for walls, ceilings and floors gives extra durability to the house.
A medium-sized couch occupies one side of the living room area. The open shelves at the end of the sofa create a display area for books and knick-knacks. A potted plant sitting on top of the cabinet brings a hint of greenery inside. The windows, both on the side and behind the couch, provide sunlight as well as a great view of the outside.
Preparing a meal is easy on the brown maple butcher block counter with a removable sink cutting board. You can simultaneously cook several dishes at once on the three-burner propane stove. Washing the dishes is a breeze in the farmer sink. A 9.9 cubic foot refrigerator able stores meat, dairy and produce.
As you enter Modern Tiny Living's signature bathroom barn door entrance, you will immediately see the stylish Nature's Head composting toilet. Right beside it is a compact yet efficient side faucet sink. The 32-by-32 shower is simple yet fully functional.
Maximizing every square inch space is essential in a tiny home. The first four steps of the stairs leading to the loft serve a double purpose, acting both as access to the loft as well as storage space in the built-in cubbies.

This 70 square foot loft is the perfect place to retreat to and unwind after a long day full of activities. A large mattress sits right on the floor. The cabinets on one side of the loft can be used to store extra pillows and blankets. A fuzzy white rug on the floor adds a touch of coziness to the space.
