This open and airy 24-foot tiny house is a California couple's dream home

Who says you have to give up life's luxuries to live in a tiny home? At 24 by 10 feet, this California build feels incredible spacious and luxurious, with a spa-like bathroom and custom his and her closets.
On the exterior, LP SmartSide trim and siding frames aluminum-clad windows. A metal roof tops the home, which has a large porthole window in the bathroom that inspired its name, the Monocle.

Inside, white shiplap walls surround wood-clad windows. Clean hardwood flooring underfoot complements yellow cedar ceilings above. A modern ceiling fan keeps air flowing, while ample windows and large French doors flood the space with light and views.
Custom steel brackets suspend open shelving in the kitchen. White shiplap siding makes a clean backsplash for minimal white cabinetry, butcher block countertops and a roomy apron-front farmhouse sink. A propane two-burner stove handles the cooking, and dinner is served up at a fold-down wood table. Copper cabinet pulls and handy foot pedal faucet controls lend modern accents.
Suspended cable shelving divides the space without closing it off and displays plants and home decor in the spacious living room, where a plush blue sofa lures those who want to curl up with a book. Shiplap siding extends up the high ceilings, and rectangular wood-frame windows brighten the room.
Across from the sofa, a propane fireplace features a custom-build shiplap hearth. Next to the fireplace, a custom built-in bookshelf ladder displays decor and books. Vintage camera equipment doubles as a sleek design accent.
White shiplap siding and wood-clad windows continue in the loft, which includes a custom copper railing for style and safety. The loft can serve as storage space or an added sleeping area, although the home can fit a bed on the main level.
The spa-like bathroom features a luxurious soaking tub and mixed tile and oak surround. The monocle window floods the walls and pebble tile floor with light. A small floating sink hands next to a rain shower head for quick washes. Also in the space is a Nature's Head composting toilet for off-the-grid living.
