Take a peek inside the Rusted Mountain Roost tiny home

The owner of this tiny home had a clear idea of what she wanted for her house. She enlisted the help of Colorado-based company Rocky Mountain Tiny Houses to execute the plan. The client gave the company several scaled drawings of what she wanted. After a few modifications to the original plans, the collaborators succeeded in building the house exactly as the owner envisioned.

The construction company used Corten steel for the siding of this tiny home and structural insulated panels for the framing. Adding a pop of color to the entrance is the French door workers painted blue. The owner’s beloved pet has its own entrance through the doggie door.
The kitchen is compact yet contains all the essentials one would need to make a meal. There’s a 24-inch propane range as well as a microwave. The stainless steel sink is right next to the cooking area, so cleaning up is an easy task. The open shelves store plates, bowls and glasses while a magnetic strip attached to the wall holds cutting utensils.
The designers uses every inch of space in this area. They attached a single wooden beam to the wall to hold an assortment of items such a wind chime, a jacket and a hat. Each step in the stairs leading to the bedroom has a drawer for storage. The bedroom door is made from barn wood. A dark finish stain adds luster to the floor made from bamboo.
A medium-sized bed takes up most of the space in this room. Several windows allow ample natural lighting to come in during the day. The walls and ceilings, made from Colorado beetle kill pine, add warmth and coziness to the intimate space.
Visitors access the guest lost via a ladder that they pull out on an angle. They can push it back to an upright position to save on space after use. A built-in closet serves the dual purpose of being a storage area as well as providing privacy to its occupant.
