This tiny house is built on top of a 12-foot trailer

Rustic with an industrial vibe is the best way to describe this tiny house. Rocky Mountain Tiny Houses worked closely with the owner when it was building the Funky East Austin Rental. The home was built on a single axle 12-foot trailer and used a shelf roof design.
Customized pipe fitting fixtures throughout the house accommodate the owner’s request for a steampunk vibe. The owner delivered several pieces she wanted to include in the home to Rocky Mountain Tiny Houses’ office in Colorado. The teamwork paid off, as can be seen from the photos.

The siding is a combination of cedar plank and corrugated metal. The home also used a reclaimed door as well as recycled windows. A single light by the doorway adds a warm glow to the entrance of the trailer at night.
One of the unique features of this house is this hanging couch, which the owner found in an Etsy store named God’s Rustic Workshop. The braided rope that holds up the sofa like a swing adds to the charm of the piece. A small window right above the couch allows fresh air to enter the house.
Another unique detail of this tiny house is this alternating tread staircase made from slabs of maple wood. The design maximizes the limited space in this area.
The loft serves as the main sleeping area. A window right across the bed gives the occupant the option to let the sunlight in during the day or a cool breeze at night. The wood paneling on the ceiling adds texture and warmth to the suspended space.

The kitchen countertop features maple wood left over from the stairs. On the wall on one side of the sink, a rod provides space to hang pans and mugs. On the opposite side, barn wood creates open shelves for added storage. The small window right in front of the sink is big enough to offer a peek of the outside world.
