Tour this Airstream Flying Cloud: It's just as charming as it was in 1958

Anna and Damian knew they were in for an adventure when they purchased their first Airstream, which hadn’t been towed in more than seven years, off of Craigslist. The Oregon-based couple started a challenge-packed adventure that year, as he tried to figure out the technical issues and she attempted to create a big-picture design concept.
When they were all done, Mountain Modern Airstream as a company was born, and the duo became experts in renovating and revitalizing Airstreams for themselves and fellow adventurers.

Their most recently completed project is lovingly named Pete, a 1958 22-foot Airstream Flying Cloud. In the owner’s family for years, Pete had been handed down from one generation to the next.
Ready for retirement, the California couple envisioned their days on the open road with their Flying Cloud in tow, so Mountain Modern set out to carefully restore Pete to his former glory. As an homage to the past, the restoration was careful to tie in the original layout and retro styling.
First and foremost, new cork flooring was installed throughout, topped with a dark oak wood look. In the front living/desk space, a telescoping table is surrounded by a custom dinette to maximize the rounded space. Vintage-style sconces flank the table, which telescopes down to offer an extra sleeping space on the cushioned dinette.
In the kitchen area, a basin sink from Kraus is surrounded by butcher block countertops. A stainless steel Blanco faucet is complemented by silver Emtek knobs and pulls from Build.com. New appliances including a retro oven and refrigerator from Norcold blend seamlessly into the vintage aesthetic.

The bedroom has a full-size bed with hidden storage underneath. Across from the bed, a full-size closet has a stereo for all of the comforts of home. A white and wood color palette extends throughout for a consistent look that keeps the focus on the light flowing from outdoors. Across the way, the bathroom features a Nature’s Head Composting Toilet.
