See how a sleek, all-white interior makes this tiny cottage feel spacious

Andrea Selkregg and her husband Malcolm purchased a 960-square-foot (89-square-meter) home in north Portland and dubbed it the NoPo Farmhouse. Neglected and over 100 years old, the house was in poor shape to say the least. But with a long-held dream of renovating a historic property, Andrea jumped at the chance to renovate the home.
With the help of Andrea's contractor brother, the couple got to work giving each room a full makeover. You can see each step of the process in detail on their blog, The Little NoPo Farmhouse. What once was a shack in shambles, is now a bright and welcoming family home full of unique style. Take a look at the full tour below.
Hard to believe, but the beautiful all-white kitchen was done on a budget. Everything was bought used on Craigslist - the stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, and even the cabinets. The butcher block countertops are practical and affordable.
The kitchen is open to the dining room and living room, creating one functional great room. The floors were painted the same white as the walls, helping the room feel more spacious.
A unique coffee table is the focal point of the living room. A gray sectional provides plenty of comfy seating. The shag rug softens the space.
The bed in the master bedroom is a DIY project. The couple built it with some of the leftover hardwood flooring planks, then added metal hairpin legs. The result is a clean and unique platform bed that looks like it was purchased at a high-end store.
The sun room functions as the office. The open shelves add interest to the space and create much-needed storage. A cute little window bench sits at the end of the room.
The nursery is sweet and welcoming with soft textiles and playful accents. The tipi adds a whimsical touch.
The bathroom is tiny but classic with black and white tile and a neutral shower curtain. The IKEA vanity is an affordable option that adds storage and style.
