A tiny grain shed is transformed into a feminine hideaway

This little hideaway was once just a tiny shed for storing grain. Emma Lyndaker transformed the space and told Julie Ranee of Houzz all about the process. Located on a farm in Plain City, Ohio, this shabby chic cottage is the perfect escape from everyday life.
The inside is a simple one-room studio layout with a bed, dining area and kitchen. The shed was given a complete overhaul, including a salvaged tin roof, new paint and refinished floors. The decor is made up of countless antiques and pretty, feminine details.
Every corner of the shed is stuffed with farmhouse charm. A bookshelf in the corner displays dishes and other vintage knickknacks. A unique tin chandelier hangs from the center of the ceiling.
An antique table and pair of chairs on a braided rug greet you as soon as you walk in the door. White planked walls contrast beautifully with the sky blue ceiling.
According to Ranee, the mint dining chairs once belonged to the owner's in-laws. Including family heirlooms in your decor adds a rich history to the space, something that newly purchased furniture just can't provide.
Can you believe the gorgeous antique bed was purchased at auction for only fifty cents? What a find. A quilted comforter and antique washstand complete the look.
This sweet stained-glass detail is located on the window above the bed. Bright windows are essential for such a tiny space; otherwise, it could feel dark and cramped.
The blue antique stove is a nice focal point in the space and provides a lovely pop of color. More antiques adorn this area, transporting you back in time.
