Take a stroll around a park model community to see how living tiny can feel big

Looking to experience some affordable lakeside property? If you live in North Carolina, you could be in luck.
Coral Sands Point Recreational Village near Lexington, North Carolina, is a vacation community exclusively with tiny homes. Its goal is to have a family-friendly atmosphere that focuses on fun and relaxation and to give "average" people a chance to own their own lakefront property. Interested patrons can lease or even own their own property at the resort, but their tiny home models must adhere to Coral Sands Point's standards as set by the Coral Sands Point Property Owner’s Association. All owners are automatically members of the association once they purchase their property.

The resort offers fishing, boating, hiking, swimming and other water sports and activities. There is a shared bathhouse, a concrete boat launch, a community picnic area, a swimming area and much more. Owners must pay dues to the Coral Sands Point Property Owner’s Association annually to cover electricity, water, garbage pickup, Wi-Fi and maintenance.
The area is near Uptown Lexington, High Rock Outfitters and other Davidson County attractions. It is also close to where an annual barbecue festival is held, meaning you can still enjoy local attractions while downsizing. While it is illegal in North Carolina to actually live full time in one of these homes (you must have a permanent address), they do make affordable vacation homes.
Currently, all of the homes have been sold or rented out, but Coral Sands Point regularly updates its website to notify the public of openings. Prices are not listed, as all available lots are full. You can also follow the progress and events at Coral Sands Point on its blog and Facebook page. For now, take a tour from your home with these photos of just some of the interior designs of the homes:
