Tali Shaul and Hagit Morevski of Even Yehuda, Israel, took on a large-scale project together when the two friends decided to convert a bus into a small, comfortable home. Not only did they succeed, but as you can see by the design of this home on wheels, they created a work of art inside the small space, lovingly nicknamed Design Bus.
The bus, formerly a public transportation bus, includes many of the vehicle's original parts, including the windows and doors. The women wished to leave the structure of the bus fairly intact while making the interior of the bus a luxurious, livable home that's comfortable for one person. As you step aboard the bus, you'll immediately notice the multiple windows and clean lines of the decor.
As you enter the bus, you'll see a whimsical polka dot ottoman right behind the driver's seat (still intact) as well as a glossy black end table decorated with a globe. Right next to the end table is a beautiful vinyl orange booth that offers a stylish spot to sit while you eat or have coffee — adding a welcome pop of cheerful color to the bus.
Across from the table is a fully operational, modern kitchen. The kitchen includes a sink, oven, refrigerator and top-of-the-line counter appliances. There's plenty of storage space, including built-in drawers underneath the kitchen counter to house food and cookware.
Head down the hall and take a look at some of the special touches that make this home truly stand out, such as built-in shelves that can house books or knickknacks.
The hallway includes gorgeous artwork with a quote and illustration of the legendary actress Audrey Hepburn, which adds some flair to an otherwise drab hallway wall.
As you approach the back of the bus, you'll see a private door that leads to the bus's restroom. The bathroom has a marbled interior and features a sink, toilet and shower.
The elegant glass-enclosed shower is spacious and offers plenty of room to bathe comfortably. There is a storage cabinet underneath the vanity to hold bathroom necessities and towels.
The master bedroom sits in a cozy nook at the end of the bus, offering an inviting space to unwind and rest. The bedroom features a double bed and plenty of windows for gorgeous natural light. There are storage shelves and spots to stow things, and the gray and black color scheme is contemporary and cool. The bus is equipped with air conditioning, electricity and a closet that's perfectly sized for one inhabitant.
Unique, simple, and beautiful, this bus is the perfect place for a young person or single tenant to enjoy a comfortable but portable lifestyle, and the two women are hoping they find just that person to enjoy their beautifully designed bus.
