A tiny backyard design studio that's big on style

Jo Torrijos is a designer, painter and foodie who loves all things vintage, thrift-stored and eclectic. She is the talent behind the blog A Simpler Design and she recently built a 500-square-foot studio in her backyard to run her interior design business from. She uses it to host clients, paint furniture, and work on her photography.
Even though the studio is small, the open layout and bright natural light make it feel spacious. It includes a kitchen, dining area, sitting area, and full bathroom. Every square inch puts Jo's eclectic and unique style on full display. Check out the full tour below.

Jo painted the kitchen cabinets herself, the dark and moody gray offer a contrast to the rest of the studio which is mostly white.
The kitchen also features a marble herringbone back splash and white Silestone counter tops. The vintage kitchen island provides additional seating.
One wall of the studio is painted navy blue and is the perfect backdrop for a vintage map and bright pillows on the day bed.
Right off the front door is where Jo placed several cork circles on the wall. She describes it as "a great spot to tack up inspiration photos, recipes and art."
A vintage French bistro table is set up as a dining area is also sometimes used as a work space. The set folds up easily if Jo needs to move it aside to work on a piece of furniture.
The mint green vanity and mirror were painted by Jo and provide a fun pop of color to the studio.

Jo purchased these chairs at a thrift store and reupholstered them herself. She describes this space as a wonderful spot to sit and grab a magazine or chat with a client.
