In a quiet spot on Lake Fairview, a short drive away from the bustling downtown of Orlando and the magic of Disney world, lies Orlando Lakefront Tiny Home & RV Community.
"Reflective of the spirit of the tiny house social movement, Orlando Lakefront is a real grassroots effort to organically grow a tiny house community from the ground up. Currently, we have 11 THOWs (Tiny Houses On Wheels) and 2 tiny houses on foundations. 13 tiny houses in all- and counting! THers (tiny housers) are welcome to join our THC and help us build big community as we live tiny," reads the community's website.

Orlando Lakefront's community holds 50 spaces for lease. Currently, there are 13 tiny houses on-site - 11 are THOWs (Tiny Houses on Wheels) and 2 are tiny houses in foundations - with room for more. Boats and paddle-boards encouraged! Amenities include a boat dock, a fishing dock, a laundromat, and a green park right on the lakefront for your tiny house pets. While the cozy park by the lake is close to downtown Orlando and popular attractions, it still maintains a peaceful and quiet atmosphere.
Wondering if the tiny house lifestyle is right for you? There are a few tiny homes available for rent so you can test the tiny waters, so to speak.
Their website's FAQ explains: "In the spirit of the social movement, we've renovated two tiny houses in foundations: The 98 sq. ft. the "Little Yellow House" and the 210 sq. ft. the "Little Blue House." Both tiny houses are rentals for folks to experience tiny living, and/or a home to rent as we build you a THOW to park in our community."
And the feeling of community is strong at Lakefront. Says Orlando Lakefront resident and tiny home advocate James Taylor, “This is an inter-generational community with demographics all over the place, but we get along because we’re like-minded. It creates this sense of old-school community where we’re taking care of each other. We have barbecues and potlucks. Everyone joins in.”
