How a coffee roaster turned custom builder completely renovated an old Skoolie

You can call Kintore Coffee Co. owners Candice and Todd a Jack and Jill of all trades. When the husband-wife duo isn't roasting coffee sourced around the globe, chances are they're working on their renovated Skoolie.
The bus features a sandy beige exterior and sleek comfort inside. Of course, that wasn't the case when they first acquired their future home on wheels.

To begin the renovation, Todd ripped out the seats and power washed the dirty bus. Then, the couple laid down insulation to the existing floor and fastened it with plastic washers. Todd glued a mahogany underlay to the insulation and secured it with small nails.
The next step was framing. A friend of the couple gave them extra wood, so all that was left was the nitty gritty details. While Todd worked on framing the interior, Candice took on the fun job of removing all of the reflective tape from the bus's exterior.
The framing continued, with built-ins created for a couch, counter and a sleeping area at the back of the bus. Then came the less glamorous tasks of insulation, plumbing and wiring.
Todd installed the ceiling and created built-in pot lights for a sleek shell. Vinyl flooring was put down on top of the mahogany overlay in an appropriate espresso finish. Custom cushions found a home atop the built-in seating.
Wood countertops complement clean white cabinetry in the kitchen area. Nearby, a small seating area features a fold-down table for meals. Built-in storage offers room to stash belongings under the seats. Two partitions separate the sleeping area from the rest of the bus.

Once all of the cabinetry and mechanicals were installed, the window frames and back of the bus received a clean white coat of paint. Royal blue fabric tops the bed and built-in seating areas. The result is an open and airy mobile space, ready for adventures!
