Woman designs pop-up camper to be used two different ways

Do you quickly get bored of your surroundings? Do you like to redesign your space regularly? If the answer to those two questions is yes, then you are a lot like Lisa. Lisa loves interior design and renovating spaces – first, her home, and now, pop-up campers. Her second pop-up renovation was on a 1987 Viking camper she named George. Rather than finish George just one way, she decided to give the camper two easily interchangeable and completely different looks, either of which can be achieved by simply changing out the curtains and accessories.
It's impressive what a few small changes an do. One version of George uses bright colors and fun accessories to give the space a sort of childhood playhouse feel. The other version focuses on deeper, more mature colors and seems to be the perfect place to invite a friend for a friendly Sunday brunch.

When Lisa first purchased George from a 100-year-old man named George, the trailer was in good shape but it looked very outdated. George said he still used the camper but because of his age, he felt it was time for him to finally upgrade to a fifth wheel camper instead. Lisa was excited to get her hands on this camper to see what she could do with it to make it look more modern and contemporary.
Because Lisa is a mom, one of the two styles she chose focused on her own children, and she certainly had them in mind when choosing the colors. She selected a bright, fun, pink curtain and a polka dotted tablecloth for the dinette. A pink blanket and other pink accessories from her daughter's room – such as the pillows, books and dollhouse – helped to round out the look.
The neutral gray fabric that Lisa chose for the seat covers on the dinette really spruced up the space and works well with both versions of this renovation, and the bright flowers make this area extra cheerful. Lisa's daughter invited a friend over and had a tea party; it seemed like an appropriate setting for one.
Lisa painted the cabinets with Zinsser Primer and Benjamin Moore paint in Wythe Blue. This color choice really makes this pop-up camper's interior bright and joyful and this tone really works well with both design options.
What a difference just a few changes can make in a small space. The other tablecloth, which Lisa bought at Target, is a bit more grown-up and reserved than the polka dot one, and the blue pillows offer an inviting message of comfort, relaxation and serenity. Lisa took the blue curtains from her own home, and they, too, really inspire calm inside this trailer.
The wood flooring that Lisa installed is very affordable peel-and-stick tile. It looks just right in the space and contrasts nicely with the blue cabinetry. Overall, both renovations were very low cost; the vast majority of the materials used to renovate George were things Lisa already had.
In the end, both versions of this easily interchangeable, best-of-both-worlds renovation are breathtaking. Depending on what Lisa and her family (or George's new owner) want, they can switch up the interior of this camper in just a few moments. This is an innovative concept and it's likely Lisa will take this approach in future renovations. It will certainly be interesting to see what other contrasting looks she manages to create in upcoming projects.
