A blue and white color palette makes this 45-foot container home cheery and open

Alternative Living Spaces creates container homes for customers looking to downsize without sacrificing craftsmanship, quality or aesthetics. The company covers all phases, from the initial design through construction and furnishing through to the very last throw pillow. Not subscribing to cookie-cutter floor plans, Alternative Living Spaces works with clients to create their ideal living space.
This 45-foot Park City, Utah, home was no exception, incorporating all of the amenities you'd expect in a modern home with an imaginative layout. Because it's on wheels, the home is easily transported from one destination to the next with a trailer.

For a private outdoor respite, a rooftop deck features a railing surround, cafe lights and a dining set for four. Iron steps lead to the deck, which spans about half of the length of the home.
White shiplap siding is accented by blue statement walls in the central living space. A sisal rug grounds the room, accented by vibrant textures and a living plant wall.
A tufted ottoman doubles as a place to sit and a makeshift coffee table, while small end tables hold a drink or remotes for the rotatable flat-screen TV.
Windows on both sides of the space let in ample light, keeping the home open and airy. Dark oak flooring complements natural wood paneling on the front-facing wall. A sliding barn door separates the living room from the rest of the home.
A sofa fits perfectly across the width of the home, offering room to sit and watch television or take a nap. Nesting tables offer plenty of surface when eating or entertaining but easily stow away to save space. Hooks under the TV offer storage for coats, hats or scarves.
The blue accent motif extends to the bathroom, which features a white vessel sink with complementary white cabinetry and shiplap siding. A wooden countertop corresponds with the natural wood siding.
In its own small closet, the toilet offers ample privacy from the rest of the home. Hanging storage holds extra toiletries, facial tissue and small necessities.
Metal container siding offers a clean material for the shower wall, accented by silver hanging storage. A small curtain separates the shower from the rest of the bathroom, which features standing shelving for towels and other storage.

The dark oak siding on the front-facing wall anchors the space. Small windows keep the home bright throughout. Although narrow, the 45-foot length makes the container feel long and spacious.
