A renovated Airstream Sovereign was a couples' toughest, and favorite, project

Will and Brittany are the duo behind Trailer Trashin, a small company that renovates and restores Airstreams in College Station, Texas. The first renovation, purchased from a friend of a friend, wasn’t intended to be a flip, but the couple fell in love with the process and their customers fell in love with the results.
Acquired in May 2018, Brittany and Will’s current Airstream is a 1985 Sovereign 34’. A self-described disaster when first purchased, Trailer Trashin transformed the RV into a beautifully detailed home on wheels. Their most extensive renovation to date, they have truly outdone themselves with this Sovereign.

The original awning offers a shaded respite for camping and resting. Windows were completely resealed, and all of the running lights were replaced with LEDs.
The kitchen features a fully restored oven and stove. Walls were painted a clean white, and cabinets were stripped, resealed and stained in a dark walnut. A new wide-vessel sink offers ample room for cooking and cleanup, accompanied by a dark bronze pull-down faucet. A brand new full-size refrigerator and freezer stands ready at the back of the kitchen.
Valences handmade in red oak wood add a chic touch to the main living space. A forest-green futon fits perfectly in the front of the airstream, pulling out for an extra sleeping area or a place to watch TV. Colorful palm-leaf fabric on the throw pillows inspired the design throughout the Airstream, including a pop of fabric on the kitchen’s hood.
Will and Brittany took out a dinette seat across from the kitchen area and installed a simple desk/table instead, accompanied by three mid-century modern chairs. The area offers a comfy place to eat, work and gather. Next to the table is a framed original Airstream advertisement.

A spacious king-size mattress fills the back bedroom, complete with a TV, new lighting system and overhead fan. Topped with a matching throw pillow, the resulting space is incredibly cozy and private to boot. Next to the bedroom, the bathroom features new white counters, a vessel sink and a vanity painted in a rich hunter green. A palm-leaf shower curtain complements the tropical motif throughout the space.
