Family of 5 renovates RV to make it the home of their dreams

After just four months of renovation, a 2002 Alumascape Fifth Wheel
RV was totally transformed and ready for a young family of five to move
in. All it took was some materials upgrade, a few tastefully chosen fixtures
and accessories, a fresh coat of paint, some hard work and
lots of care and imagination.
Tthe Alumascape Fifth Wheel, manufactured by RV industry pioneer Holiday Rambler of the REV Group Inc., features a wide-body design and the exclusive Alumaframe Superstructure. This ensures that the RV
can withstand the toughest road conditions. Another standard feature of this
RV is its nine-layer tapered roof construction with different insulation
materials that ensure a well-insulated home.
Inside, the old vinyl floor was changed into a laminate floating floor featuring a tavern oak design. The shiplap walls added a rustic charm and the interior was painted white, giving the home a clean and airy feel. Wide glass windows allow a lot of natural sunlight in, making the small house feel more spacious.
The love seat offers gray textured upholstery that’s durable and easy to clean, and it fits comfortably on one side of the living room. The framed mirror that hangs above it reflects the opposite side of the room, adding to the light and sense of spaciousness.
The flooring inside the RV was upgraded to a Tavern Oak laminate floating floor from Lowe’s, showing off the beauty and expensive look of wood without actually being expensive.
Another highlight of the renovation is the shiplap walls. Six-inch planks were cut with a table saw and mounted horizontally, creating attractive interior wooden wall sidings.
The special paint applied on the kitchen countertops gives it a solid concrete-like appearance. The island sink and countertop extension allows ease of movement and the built-in cabinets are within easy reach.
The double-door refrigerator, a standard feature in the RV along with the high-output three-burner range with oven, fits in snugly within the compact space. The black and white plaid rug from Target is a nice accent on the laminate floor. The modern light fixture on the ceiling is from Amazon.
Meals will taste even better when you take them on this freestanding dinette table while looking out the window with a view. The easy chair with a throw pillow in the corner is inviting too. The overhead black light fixtures are from Amazon.
The queen-sized bed sits on a platform that dominates that section of the room, underlining its importance. The fresh bed sheets and pillows are mute invitations to restful slumber. The discreet bedside lights on the walls are from Amazon.
The triple frame for this bunk bed was custom made by the owner. Crib sheets were cleverly used. What an ingenious solution to make the most of limited space to accommodate three growing kids.
This built-in dresser offers enough drawers to contain the clothes of the young residents of this small house, with more space available in the cupboards overhead.
For the bathroom remodel, the shower frame was painted with a resurfacing kit called Tough as Tile from Lowe’s. Goodbye to the old-fashioned gilded yellow tub. The vanity top was spray painted with black Rust-Oleum.
