Explore the crafty interiors of a school bus that was made into a family home

Nina Nelson (AKA Shalom Mama) has always had a natural affinity for all things related to sustainability. A passion for natural healing propelled her to explore different ways to get the best out of nutrition, physical well-being and all things related to self-care.
It is no wonder, then, that Nelson eventually became attracted to the idea of relocating her family into a tiny living space. With the idea maturing into her mind, the converted school bus dream was born. Every step of the way, Nelson has imparted her wisdom about transitioning into a compact living space to her avid blog readers. Since completing its construction in 2013, the Nelson family lived on their converted bus for years - until a job change forced them to relocate into a normal-sized house.

It all started with this run down, renovated Skoolie. The Nelsons bought the bus in October 2012, and spent the next three months stripping the inside bare so that they could start everything anew.
Eventually, the old school bus began to be molded it into their dream home.
Needless to say, it didn't take long for this to become the Nelsons' ideal family dwelling.
As you enter this amazing converted bus, you will see that the Nina and her husband took great care in ensuring that their new home meets their family's demands.
Their care and attention to detail meant the creation of great storage compartments like these, which are concealed under two benches by the entrance and have been designed to stash away all toys and personal belongings.
The bus also includes a well-illuminated kitchen complete with appliances, cupboards, drawers and utensils.
Along with a cleverly-engineered bench that can be folded outwards to reveal the cook top.
An extra Jotul stove that helps keep everything warm and cozy.
And a foldout table for those low-key family dinners too.
You'll notice that the shower is not too far ahead, while the toilet is hidden just outside the bedroom.
How's this for great use of space? Not only have the Nelsons managed to fit five beds in one area, they also got creative with storage in their bedroom too.
Boxes of clothes are within easy access right under the bed.
And the bed itself looks pretty comfy too.
