1. Split-level ranch home from ePlans
This split-level rancher from ePlans comes in at 992 square feet (92 square meters), and it includes an optional single garage on the left side. The front door opens into the living room, behind which are the dining room and a U-shaped kitchen. Sliding glass doors in the dining room open onto the back patio. Back in the living room, a small flight of stairs leads up to the home's three bedrooms. The large master bedroom boasts vaulted ceilings, and all three bedrooms share access to the bathroom in the back corner of this space.

Measuring 843 square feet (78 square meters), this design from Houseplans has a definite Old World charm. Step through the front door and you'll find yourself in the spacious great room. Keep walking straight to pass the bathroom and enter an L-shaped kitchen that features a large pantry and a built-in breakfast booth. A bedroom with a built-in window seat sits at the very back of the home. Two more bedrooms are found upstairs; they both have large closets, and they share access to a bathroom.
3. Fairy tale-inspired cottage from Max House Plans
This cozy cottage from Max House Plans comes in at 804 square meters (75 square meters). The front part of the home is taken up by an open-concept eat-in kitchen and family room with a large fireplace. A sizable master suite makes up the rest of the first floor; it boasts a private deck, a walk-in closet and a bathroom with a tub. The loft upstairs has two built-in bunks as well as room for an additional bed.
4. Elegant three-bedroom design from ePlans
At 943 square feet (88 square meters), this home from ePlans boasts three large bedrooms. Once inside the front door, a coat closet is off to the right, and the open-concept living room and eat-in kitchen is off to the left. The bathroom on this floor is in the back-right corner. One of the bedrooms is on the first floor as well, and it includes a door leading to a small deck outside. The other two bedrooms are upstairs, and they share access to a bathroom with a tub.
5. Cozy cottage from Houseplans
This design from Houseplans comes in at 983 square feet (91 square meters). Step up onto the front porch and through the front door to find yourself in the foyer. The living room is off to the left; it boasts a fireplace and provides access to the back porch. The kitchen is on the right of the foyer, and a small hallway at the back leads to a bathroom with a tub and a bedroom. Two more bedrooms are found on the second floor, and there is also a small bathroom with a shower here.
6. Three-bedroom cottage with large deck from Architectural Designs
This simple cottage from Architectural Designs measures 816 square feet (76 square meters), and it features a large wraparound deck with space to store the wood needed to fuel the wood stove in the living room. The front of the home is made up of an open-concept living room, dining room and L-shaped kitchen. There is a short hallway that can be accessed from either the kitchen or the living room, and it leads to the home's three bedrooms as well as to the bathroom on the right side.

Measuring 977 square feet (91 square meters), this design from Houseplans offers plenty of outdoor living space thanks to covered porches at both the back and the front. The first floor has an open-concept living room and eat-in kitchen on the right side and a good-sized master suite with a walk-in closet on the left. A second bedroom is located upstairs, as is a loft that could double as a third bedroom in a pinch. Plenty of storage space is found here as well.
