7 excellent floor plans for tiny traditional bungalows

No matter where you live, you're likely to appreciate the attractive simplicity of a good old-fashioned traditional bungalow. They look equally at home in both the city and the country, and it's easy to find designs that suit families of every size!

1. One bedroom cottage with vaulted ceilings from Architectural Designs.
This charming little home from Architectural Designs comes in at 550 square feet (51 square meters). The front door opens into the living room on the right-hand side of the home, which features sloping ceilings. The L-shaped kitchen is off to the left; it includes an island with an eating bar as well as space for a small dining table. Sliding barn doors separate the dining room from the laundry room behind it. The bedroom is in the back right corner of the home, and it includes both a walk-in closet and a bathroom with a tub.
2. Charming country design from Houseplans.
Coming in at 841 square feet (78 square meters), this one bedroom design from Houseplans would be perfect for anyone looking for a tiny home that still feels fairly spacious. Anyone entering the home is greeted by a small formal foyer, and the bedroom is easily accessible off to the right. It features a walk-in closet and provides access to a bathroom with both a tub and a shower. The main living area is found on the left-hand side of the home, with an archway separating the living room from the dining room. From the dining room, you can pass through a second archway to access the kitchen. The utility and laundry room is found at the very back of the home.
3. Two-bedroom home with L-shaped kitchen from Family Home Plans.
This charming design from Family Home Plans comes in at 911 square feet (85 square meters). A coat closet is conveniently located right inside the front door, and an open concept living area with an eat-in kitchen is off to the left. The hallway off the kitchen leads to two bedrooms, a laundry closet, and a bathroom that boasts both a tub and a shower.
4. Simple studio design from Houseplans.
Measuring only 200 square feet (19 square meters), this design from Houseplans boasts all the curb appeal of a far larger home. The front door is found under the covered porch on the right side of the home, and it opens directly into the main living area. A fireplace is found in the back left corner of the home, while the kitchen runs along the back wall. A bathroom with a shower is on the far right.
5. Family home with wraparound deck from ePlans.
This design from ePlans comes in at 801 square feet (74 square meters), and it features a large garage with an attached shop. Doors on either end of the wraparound porch lead into both the garage and the living room in the back right corner. The living room boasts vaulted ceilings and a fireplace, and it's open to the dining nook and kitchen with an eating bar. A hallway between the kitchen and dining room leads to two bedrooms and a bathroom with a tub.
6. Unique floor plan with carport from Architectural Designs.
At 815 square feet (76 square meters), this home from Architectural Designs has only one bedroom but plenty of storage space. The front door opens into a small foyer; the open concept living room and eat-in kitchen are off to the right. Double doors on the left of the foyer lead into the large bedroom, and from here you can access the bathroom in the back left corner of the home. The laundry room sits between the bathroom and the kitchen, and it provides access to a large central walk-in closet.
7. Two-bedroom Craftsman from Houseplans.

This lovely Craftsman design from Houseplans measures a relatively large 999 square feet (93 square meters), but it has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. There is a covered porch at the front, a deck on the right-hand side, and a single garage out at the back. The front door opens right into the open concept living and dining room, the highlight of which is a cozy fireplace. The master suite is right off the living room; it boasts both a walk-in closet and an en-suite bathroom. The back portion of the home is taken up by a kitchen, the second bedroom and bathroom, and a small mudroom.
